6 Grendel is terrorizing the city because he's cold blooded carnivore thats just trying to get a bit to it and grendel tries to withraw from the fight because he realizes that beowulf isnt your usual viking. he realizes this when he grasps him in his hands but beowulf's restraints him crushing him.
